Can anyone tell me the differences between the w202 OM605 turbo/non turbo engines?
I assume the blocks are the same, but what about crank/rods/pistons/head/valves etc?
Would the non turbo respond well to bolting on a large turbo and correct fueling etc?
N/A vs Turbo differences are Rod bearings, rods, pistons and oil spray nozzles to pistons.
Also valves may be differend size valvestem. Also Intake cam are differend. N/A intake cam is better to use for big power.
605N/A engine weak spot is rods. Pistons can hold pig power but rods bend wery easy. Earlier 605 and 606 N/A engine may have stronger rods that later models.

ps: Would you of never considered building the M51 BMW diesel? That seems like a fairly good engine apart from cylinder head problems?
